Teen Retreat

January 14-15, 2011

Speaker: Jason Malone

Jason Malone graduated from Cedarville University in 1998 and began his ministry at Southside Fellowship in Greenville, SC. as one of the Student Ministry Pastors. After a 9-year stay, Jason resigned his position at Southside to follow God’s leading in reaching the Upstate of South Carolina with the Gospel through church planting. Summit Church Mauldin launched in September 2008, and Summit Church Cherrydale launched in January 2010. Jason serves as a Pastor on staff at both campuses as well as Visionary Leader for Summit.

Jason’s desire through church planting is to give every man, woman and child in the Upstate of South Carolina the repeated opportunity to see, hear, and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ without them coming or going anywhere.

Jason and his wife, Jen, have two little girls, Caroline and Catelyn.

Speaker: Rand Hummel

Rand received his B.A. from Bob Jones in 1978. Immediately after graduation, he went to work at The Wilds, a Christian camp in Brevard, North Carolina specializing in teen ministry. He was the Program Director there for 25 years. Describing his work, he said "a lot of my job is simply the teens. I preach to them, counsel them, hang out with them, run the games... We actually have the best job on the campsite." Every summer Rand would speak to around 15,000 teenagers who come to the Wilds. He later became the Assistant Director, and in 2007 was appointed Director of The Wilds of New England in Deering, New Hampshire, where he currently resides.

Maintaining a busy itinerary throughout the year, Rand preaches about 350 times annually. He has also written several books and Bible study guides. Much of his speaking and writing focuses on evangelism, the knowledge of God through personal daily devotions, and moral purity.
